Guiding principles serve as the conscience of the process. They are the standards for decision making and personal interactions.

Example:
All decisions will be made in the best interest of students.


Each goal and action must be measured against the guiding principles. An action that is designed for the convenience of the educator and is not in the best interest of the student must be discarded.
